Colours and tiles in Lisbon Portugal

The Tiles

On a trip to Lisbon this Spring, one thing that really captured me in the beauty of Lisbon was the tiles. So many beautifully painted tiles all over the place. The tiles scaled the walls of houses, churches, city squares, they were such amazing designs. I would stop at every chance to photograph and admire the tiles. So now I have a crazy amount of tile photos and I thought what better way to showcase these tiles than a blog post.

The Colours

Lisbon, Portugal’s capital city, is one of the oldest cities in Europe. Facing out into the Atlantic Ocean, its red-tiled roofs sit atop cream coloured buildings and its cobbled streets adorned with bright geometric tiles. Looking at the city from above the colour palette is an obvious collection of blues and oranges. The perfect site to look upon whilst sipping on a coffee and feasting on Pastel de nata’s.
